| 3-door Porsche Cajun Version Might Be Launched Posted: 18 Jun 2011 05:00 AM PDT  Porsche Cajun(rendering) If we were to believe our colleagues from Car and Driver, the highly anticipated Porsche Cajun might get a 3-door version and an interior that will be inspired from what we can see in the Panamera and Cayenne models. The crossover is going to be based on the Audi Q5 and will get a Quattro all-wheel drive system, bigger brakes and an updated suspension. As far as the engines are concerned, we don't have any certainties, but a 2.0-liter TFSI engine that develops 220 hp (223 PS / 164 kW) is possible, along with a V6 3.0-liter unit that cranks out 300 hp (304 PS / 224 kW) and 350 hp (355 PS / 261 kW). Most likely, there are going to be some diesels, like a 2.0-liter TDI that generates 200 hp (203 PS / 149 kW) and a bigger V6 3.0-liter TDI with 250 hp (253 PS / 186 kW) and 310 hp (314 PS / 231 kW). A hybrid version is most likely under development, which will feature a 2.0-liter TFSI gasoline engine and an electric motor that generates 44 hp (45 PS / 33 kW), providing a combined output of 241 hp (245 PS / 180 kW) and 354 lb.-ft (480 Nm) of torque. | Buenos Aires Motor Show – Chevrolet Colorado Rally Concept Posted: 18 Jun 2011 04:30 AM PDT  Chevrolet Colorado Rally Concept Another concept revealed by Chevrolet at the Buenos Aires International Motor Show, aside from the Cobalt Sedan is this Colorado Rally Concept. This one is the continuation of the Colorado Show Truck that Chevy unveiled back in March at the Bangkok International Motor Show.  Chevrolet Colorado Rally Concept The new concept has been developed by General Motors South American design team and comes with a 4WD configuration, 18-inch aluminum alloys, 305/60R18 tires and a 2.8-liter turbodiesel power unit.  Chevrolet Colorado Rally Concept They've equipped the truck with 140 mm high performance shock absorbers along with a height-adjustable suspension. On both front & rear bumpers there is a 5.5 hp winch with a 23 meter long steel cable. All of the pickup's exterior lights benefit from the LED technology and the concept has a traction capacity of up to 4 tones.  Chevrolet Colorado Rally Concept Speaking of the outside, the Colorado Rally Concept wears White Pearl paint with a contrasting interior cabin dashboard with ash-colored leather sport seats that have orange stitching. The model also sports a roll cage, along with a control for the stiffness of the dampers and a center console that has all the suitable dials for a rally racer. The air in the cabin can be quickly replaced thanks to the Air Boost system while the Hydration Pack is in charge with offering the necessary hydration of the driver and the co-pilot while racing. | Renault Megane RS Trophy, Fastest FWD Car On Nurburgring Posted: 18 Jun 2011 04:00 AM PDT  Renault Megane RS Trophy The Renault Megane RS Trophy has managed to become the fastest production-spec FWD car on the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife track. The driver who achieved the 8 minutes and 7.97 seconds time is Laurent Hurgon, who beat the 8 minutes and 17 seconds time achieved by the Renault Megane R26.R. As a reminder, the car is motivated by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produces 261 hp (265 PS / 195 kW) and has a peak torque of 265 lb.-ft (360 Nm), which is 15 PS and 20 Nm more than the regular Megane RS version. | Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan Concept Posted: 18 Jun 2011 03:30 AM PDT  Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan Concept At this year's edition of the Buenos Aires International Motor Show, Chevrolet introduced this Cobalt Sedan Concept, which was created by the General Motors Design Center South America and comes with some modifications in comparison to the standard variant, like the steeper sloped windscreen, designed in order to provide an airier cabin feel.  Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan Concept The concept which they brought to the show had a Smoke Beige paintjob and featured an aerodynamic kit with integrated twin chrome exhaust out in the back. The concept features 17-inch alloy rims wrapped around in 255/45R17 rubber. | Volvo Axes S40 & V50 From U.S. Posted: 18 Jun 2011 03:00 AM PDT  Volvo S40 R-Design The Swedish automaker Volvo has announced this week that the S40 and V50 will no longer be sold in the United States starting with the 2012MY due to slow sales. This announcement comes after last year's decision to axe the V70 wagon from the U.S. lineup. Both the S40 and the V50 are aging models and sales in the U.S. plummeted in the last years. According to the company, the S40 sedan sales dropped by 29% in 2010 while the V50 wagon sales dropped by more than 50% during the same period. Wagons are not very popular in North America as opposed to the European continent where hatchbacks and wagons are chosen by many drivers. Volvo said that they will focus their attention on the cars which are attractive to the U.S. market, like the S60, S80 sedans and the XC60, XC70 and XC90 models. | Fresh Info About The New Audi S6, RS6, S7 and S8 Posted: 18 Jun 2011 02:30 AM PDT  2012 Audi S7 It seems that our esteemed colleagues from Auto Bild have managed to obtain more information about some of the soon-to-be-released hot version models from Audi. The first one on the agenda is the S8 which will probably make its official debut this September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Most likely, it will be powered by an all-new V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine that has been developed together with Bentley. This power unit will produce about 493 hp (500 PS / 368 kW), which is 50 PS than the previous S8 and it is also 20% more fuel efficient. This engine will be mated as standard to an 8-speed automatic transmission and the power will be sent to all four wheels via Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system. At the Los Angeles Auto Show we will most likely see the S6 and S7 models, which will be powered by a V8 4.0-liter unit, set to output 434 hp (440 PS / 324 kW) for the S6 and 464 hp (470 PS / 346 kW) for the S7. We don't know if this engine is going to be a single/twin turbo That V8 4.0-liter twin turbo engine will also motivate the RS6 model where it will develop 572 hp (580 PS / 427 kW), which is a little bit more than its main rival, the recently announced BMW M5 (F10), which offers 552 hp (560 PS / 412 kW) and has a peak torque of 502 lb.-ft (680 Nm). In the works is also the RS7 model, which will have the same V8 4.0-liter twin turbo engine, but Audi will tune it in order to produce 592 hp (600 PS / 441 kW). They installed a new front grille, updated the fascias a little bit, put bigger wheel arch extensions, along with installing a four-tailpipe stainless steel exhaust system. That 3.0-liter TDI engine under the bonnet can be fitted with an updated ECU that increases the power to 271 hp (275 PS / 202 kW) and 428 lb.-ft (580 Nm) of torque, which is 35 hp (35 PS / 26 kW) and 59 lb.-ft (80 Nm) more than the standard output of the engine. | Factory Five 818 Design Goes Online Posted: 18 Jun 2011 01:30 AM PDT  Factory Five 818 (Design Proposal) We live in the era of the Internet and now it seems that automakers are using the web to find inspiration for the design of their vehicles. Factory Five is one of these companies and they chose the work of Nouphone Bansas who created a gorgeous rendering of a modern convertible that has a four-tailpipe exhaust system and distinctive headlights. Besides the exposure he got from winning this competition, Bansas also received a check for $5,000. Click here to view the embedded video. Regarding the car, this 818 is going to be based on the Subaru Impreza WRX and it will feature a RWD configuration with a mid-mounted power unit and a curb weight of only 1,800 pounds (818 kg). The initial stage will set you back 1,500 Euros and for this money you will get 40 hp more, rounding up the output figure of the engine to 375 hp (380 PS / 280 kW) and 428 lb.-ft (580 Nm), up from the standard 335 hp (340 PS / 250 kW) and 369 lb.-ft (500 Nm) of torque. For 800 Euros more, you will get a new air cooler and the power output will go up to an impressive 444 hp (450 PS / 331 kW) and 465 lb.-ft (630 Nm) of torque, which will be enough for a 0-62 mph sprint in only 4.1 seconds.
