In this video, Audi talks about the development of lightweight materials and their use in the automaker's current and future lineup. The German manufacturer promises that each new model will be lighter than the one it replaces thanks to the use of the best steel and aluminum compositions, along with various components made out of carbon fiber. From this video we can learn that the Audi-owned Lamborghini also benefits from the same lightweight profile, especially in the latest model, the Aventador, which features a carbon fiber monocoque construction, a premiere for Lamborghini. New Sales Record For Citroen In March Posted: 10 Apr 2011 04:26 AM PDT The French automaker Citroen has set a new sales record, managing to register almost 42,000 passenger cars in its domestic market last month, which is the highest monthly total in the country for more than four decades. Sales increased by 19.2% for passenger cars and 18.7% for light commercial vehicles. The car manufacturer reported 49,746 vehicle registrations in France last month, up by 19% in comparison to the same period of last year. This boost in sales was driven by the passenger cars, especially from the C4 (6,300 units) and the C3 (12,500 units). The DS3 was also popular among buyers, as Citroen managed to deliver 4,500 units, taking the first-year total to 35,800 cars. Sebastian Vettel Wins F1 Malaysian GP Posted: 10 Apr 2011 03:49 AM PDT After grabbing the pole position yesterday, Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel had no problems maintaining his lead today during the 2nd race of the season. He lost the lead only when he had to change his tires at the pitstop and thanks to its 3-stop strategy he managed to be 3.2 seconds faster than Jenson Button. Despite the fact that before the race and during the beginning of it there was a rain forecast, that didn't happen and the teams were able to maintain their strategies throughout the entire race. After the first 10 laps of the race, Vettel pulled a 10 seconds lead, before stopping for soft tires on laps 14 and 26, and finishing the last 17 laps on hard tires. His only problem was with the car's KERS system, which he wasn't able to use during the middle of the race. The pilot that I liked the most during this race was Nick Heidfeld, who ran a very good and clean race, managing to finish 3rd, right in front of Mark Webber, while Ferrari's Massa finished in 5th place. Webber had a very poor strategy for this second race of the season as he had stop visit the pitstops four times. In addition, he had problems at the beginning of the race with his KERS system, dropping from 3rd to 10th place after the first corner. In my opinion, the biggest disappointment was Fernando Alonso in his Ferrari because he ruined his chances of finishing in top 3 due to the reason that he made contact with the rear of Hamilton's car in his attempt to overtake Lewis at the Turn 4. He eventually finished in 6th place, ahead of McLaren's pilot. Kobayashi, Schumacher and Paul di Resta rounded out the top 10 at the Malaysian GP. Probably the most exciting moment of the race was when Renault's Vitaly Petrov went off the circuit on the exit of Turn 11. He hit a drainage gulley at a very high speed, managing to leave the ground for a couple of seconds. 2011 Malaysian GP

Wearing a matte black paint, this car rolls on 21-inch alloy wheels and is powered by a V8 5.5-liter supercharged engine that comes with a revised air intake, an optimized ECU and a new stainless steel sport exhaust system. After all of these modifications have been made, the power unit develops 722 PS (712 hp / 531 kW) and 656 lb.-ft (890 Nm) of torque, enough for a 0-60 mph sprint time in a mere 3.4 seconds. It needs 24.5 seconds to reach 186 mph from start, on its way to a limited top speed of 214 mph (345 km/h). As a reminder, the standard 722 delivers 641 hp (650 PS / 478 kW). Aside from these hardware tweaks and modifications, the interior got a new steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara, a new infotainment system with GPS connectivity and Bluetooth/iPod support, along with a carbon fiber trim.
