680 hp White Angel tuning program for the Mercedes SL65 AMG by Inden Design Posted: 17 Mar 2009 02:34 PM PDT Let’s say you already have a 2005 Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG, but you’re so in love with the facelifted SL that you need to have one, without paying a lot. No problem, because that’s exactly what the German tuner Inden Design had in mind when they came up with the White Angel. Exterior changes include new headlights, new bonnet, carbon fiber rear diffuser and a sport exhaust system, all based on the ones from the 2008 SL. The package is completed by 19 inch 3-parts aluminium wheels, while the interior was inspired by the Black Series and uses Alcantara leather all over the place. And that’s not all, because Inden Design says only original AMG parts were used for the redesign. Under the hood, Inden also played with the engine and by fitting it with a re-engineered turbo charger, more powerful intercooler, extra gear oil cooler and upgraded ECU, they’ve managed to squeeze 59 more ponies from the engine, which now delivers 680 hp. Smart ForTwo to get four-seats version Posted: 17 Mar 2009 01:56 PM PDT Launched in 2004, the Smart ForFour was quite a failure for Mercedes, who withdrew the car from production two years later, in 2006. The end of this car, which shared its platform with the Mitsubishi Colt, also meant the end of Daimler’s partnership with the Japanese carmaker. However, due to the Smart ForTwo’s success in the United States and with the small cars market growing a lot recently, it looks like Mercedes is planning on bringing back the four-doors, four-passenger smart. To be named Smart ForTwo +2 and most likely to debut in 2012, the new Smart will basically be a stretched version of the ForTwo and will compete against strong rivals, like the upcoming Audi A1 or the BMW Isetta. So, will Mercedes turn the new ForFour (or ForTwo +2, whatever you like to call it) a success? If they price it right, they might, who knows. What do you think? Volkswagen Golf GTI W12 concept body kit by Exclusive Tuning Posted: 17 Mar 2009 08:27 AM PDT Remember the VW Golf GTI W12 concept unveiled by the German carmaker two years ago at the Wörthersee Show? Unfortunately, this concept never got into production and few had the chance to drive this magnificent car (TopGear were among those few, of course). However, Dutch tuner Exclusive Tuning Worldwide decided to give a chance to all Golf V owners to be as close as they’ll ever be to owning a W12. This bodykit, priced at €13,025 (around $17,000) features new front and rear bumpers, huge side skirts, revised hatch, new quad exhaust and 18 inch GTI wheels. Unfortunately, all this package features is the body kit, because the Dutch tuner didn’t came up with any engine upgrades to take a Golf V anywhere close to the 650 hp 6.0 liter W12 engine from the concept car. The package looks pretty good, we have to admit but, take it as a friendly advice, we would only choose it for a GTI, because I wouldn’t see a 75 hp 2.0 liter diesel looking like this. So what do you think about the package? Because it might not be perfect, but we kinda like it.
