Posted: 22 May 2011 03:00 AM PDT Earlier this week KTM officially launched the X-Bow R which they've described as to be a "further development" of the original model. The car is powered by an Audi-derived 2.0-liter TSI gasoline engine that has been fitted with a bigger turbocharger, a new ECU and high-performance fuel injectors. By making these updates, KTM has managed to increase the output of the 4-cylinder engine from 237 hp (240 PS / 177 kW) to 295 hp (300 PS / 220 kW) and 295 lb.-ft (400 Nm). In order to handle the extra muscles, KTM's engineers installed a new torque arm that has been directly connected to the car's carbon monocoque chassis, enabling the X-BOW R to benefit from "significantly" improved handling and torsional rigidity. In addition, they've also lowered the center of gravity by 15mm and upgraded the suspension with stiffer dampers and springs. The KTM X-BOW R can be yours if you are willing to pay 58,795 Euros, without taking into consideration the taxes and the import duties. Protoscar Unveils Lampo3 EV Concept Posted: 22 May 2011 01:32 AM PDT The Lampo3 is the successor of Protoscar's other two EV concepts, the Lampo and the Lampo2. This 2+2 coupe has a composite body, a tubular steel chassis and a removable targa roof. The car is powered by three electric motors that generate a combined output of 563 hp (570 PS / 420 kW) and 664 lb.-ft (900 Nm) of torque. One engine is installed on the front axle while the other two sit on the rear axle. The car benefits from an all-wheel drive system and torque vectoring. The company estimates that the Lampo3 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 137 mph (220 km/h). With the batteries full, the EV can be driven for up to 124 miles (200 km). It features a 32 kWh lithium-ion battery that benefits from a BRUSA on-board charger, allowing the vehicle to be charged with basically just about any type of charger out there. Despite the fact that at the moment the Lampo3 is just a one-off concept; the manufacturer is taking into consideration a limited-run production series. There are no information regarding the price tag or when it will be available. Click here to view the embedded video.
